Background: I was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and have lived in the same house all my life up until attending UF. In 9th grade I attended Choctawhatchee High School and participated in their Embry Riddle program where I learned how to use many of their shop tools. The rest of my high school experience was spent at Collegiate High School at Northwest Florida State College where I completed my Senior capstone project, designing a hydrofoil for a windsurf board.
Current Activities: I am a Freshman studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida. With the Applied Physics Research Group, I spend my time assisting Bhaswati with her research by using 3D modeling software to design and then make actuators that we use in experiments to better understand their properties. Aside from APRG, I spend a lot of my time designing a solar car with the Solar Gators to be raced in the Sun Grand Prix, a national event where the top car companies and universities compete to see whose car can go the furthest on solely energy generated from the Sun. I am also the Webmaster for UF’s chapter of AIChE, where I ensure the website is accurate and up to date.
