This low speed wind tunnel was specifically designed to fulfill the need for low Reynolds number facilities which use air as the working medium. It is a dual use facility between the University of Florida and the Air Force Research Laboratories Munitions Directorate. Initial tests have demonstrated steady velocities in the range of 1 to 20 m/s.
The photograph to the right shows the ACF as it is currently installed at the University of Florida’s Research and Engineering Education Facility (REEF). The overall length of the wind tunnel is approximately 45 feet while the inlet is a 10 foot by 10 foot area.
