This blow down wind tunnel currently has a fixed nozzle block designed to run at Mach 1.44. The test section, which is 3 X 4 inches, can have optical access from all sides and is currently being used for the studies on control of supersonic flow over open cavities and the interaction of incident shock waves with vibratory metamaterials. Air to the wind tunnel is supplied by a Sullair Compressor, passed through a desiccant dryer and stored in two large storage tanks.
