Alina Zare teaches and conducts research in the area of pattern recognition and machine learning. Dr. Zare has held prior appointments as an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri from Sept. 2010 to Sept. 2016 and an Office of Naval Research Faculty Fellow in summers of 2012 and 2013. Her research interests include hyperspectral image analysis, synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) analysis, LIDAR data analysis, landmine and explosive hazard detection, and machine learning. Dr. Zare is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award for her research on “Supervised Learning with Incomplete and Uncertain Data.”
