The Machine Learning and Sensing Lab is excited to welcome Juan Diaz as a new Ph.D. student! Juan received his Electrical & Computer Engineering bachelor and master’s degree from the University of Florida. He received his bachelors in spring 2022 and his master’s in Fall 2023. Afterwards He became a Machine Learning Engineer in industry. Now he is returning to UF to pursue his PhD within the ECE department. His first project in the lab is studying GANs and GCNNs. The overall goal is to segment plant roots from CT scans of soil cores. He loves spending time with his wife and family!
