Do you think water is “the” critical resource?

Are you seeking a career in satellite remote sensing applications in water sciences?

If your answer is “Yes”, we are looking for you.

Two funded research opportunities are available for highly motivated and creative individuals with a strong interest in pursuing multi-disciplinary approaches to address emerging issues at the interface of water, environment and human-health including:

  • Remote sensing of hydrosphere and water-related diseases: quantification, integration and prediction;
  • Modeling of hydrologic and climatic processes, issues of scales, observational data analysis with a focus on regional and global occurrence of water-related diseases;
  • Impact of climate change on outbreaks, prevalence, transmission and distribution of water-related disease;

Desirable backgrounds include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or geosciences with particular emphasis on environmental and hydrology-related coursework. A desire to develop strong analytical and computational skillset (e.g., GIS, statistical modeling, processing and handling of remote sensing data) is required and should reflect from your short statement of interests. For more information, please contact Dr. Antar Jutla at ajutla@ufl.edu with a brief research statement (maximum 500 words), your skillset and latest CV. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Admission to the university is required before the appointment can be completed.
