Summary of previous major pandemics
Our research group argues explicit difference between simulation and prediction. Prediction (or forecast), in true sense, is unknown future while Simulation is generation of “what if” scenarios. Think of prediction (or forecasts) as possible knowledge from models on Hurricane paths, what is the temperature next day. Simulation is something like what will happen if changing climate will create Y scenario. When two concepts are used interchangeably, within the context of environmental modulated clinically relevant pathogens, it produces confusion!!
