Dr. Khiem Tran is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida. Before joining the University of Florida in 2018, Dr. Tran had been a faculty member at Clarkson University for 6 years. His primary areas of research are geophysical and nondestructive testing, and foundation design and capacity assessment. He mostly focuses on:
- Seismic/ultra-seismic, sonic/ultrasonic, GPR, resistivity techniques for nondestructive evaluation of transportation and civil infrastructure
- Foundation dynamics and monitoring for integrity and capacity assessment
His research program has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Federal Highway Administration, US Army Corps of Engineers, State Departments of Transportation, and industry. Dr. Tran currently serves as Associate Editor for ASCE Journal of Bridge Engineering.
