Additive Biomanufacturing


Additive biomanufacturing uses layer-by-layer fabrication to create three-dimensional biological constructs with precise control over their structure, composition, and cellular organization. By combining biomaterials and living cells, these technologies provide a platform for developing tissue-engineered constructs, in vitro models, and new approaches to regenerative medicine. Additive biomanufacturing allows researchers to investigate how material properties, architecture, and cell–material interactions influence tissue development and function.

The lab utilizes the CELLINK BIO X 3D bioprinter for extrusion-based biomanufacturing. The BIO X enables the controlled deposition of a variety of biomaterials and cell-containing bioinks to produce complex three-dimensional constructs. Its flexible printing capabilities support research into tissue engineering and biomaterial design.
