Two REU students have joined the Engineering Education Collaborative for summer, 2021. Elizabeth (Anne) Kohler is a mechanical engineering student at Michigan Technological University. Emily Buten is a mechanical engineering student at Dayton University. They will be working on a classification scheme for engineering problems and applying it to classify the problems in engineering textbooks. They are also participating in various professional development opportunities being provided through the Summer Undergraduate Research at Florida program. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic they are working remotely from their home institutions. The REU is being funded by the National Science Foundation through an REU supplement to grant EEC-1824610.
