The MAE Department hosts and ELD Model 407 wind tunnel which the Unsteady Fluids Dynamics Group uses quite regularly. This closed loop facility has a test section with 2′ by 2′ cross sectional area with a heat exchanger in the turning vanes to maintain a constant temperature. This temperature as well as the velocity is controlled through a LabView virtual instrument with a PID controller.
