Elizabeth Volpe has just completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Clemson University in the Spring of 2020. During her time as an undergraduate student she enjoyed mentoring incoming Engineering students and assistant teaching math classes for the Clemson LIFE program. This involvement in the STEM community lead to her taking a research position in the Engineering & Science Education Department at Clemson University in her senior year. Elizabeth is excited to join the SRL team as she works towards her Masters degree and PhD and is passionate about improving the Civil Engineering industry. Her major interest in research is working to improve the overall quality of the engineering workforce by working to increase the retention rate of intelligent engineering students: particularly women, minorities, and students with disabilities in the engineering field. In her free time Elizabeth enjoys hiking, surfing, and running.
