Congratulations to Quincy Barton, who successfully defended his Master\u2019s thesis on Friday, October 21st<\/sup>, 2022! The title of his defense was \u201cEstablishing Methodology for Probing Mechanisms of Nanoparticle Uptake in Natural Killer Cells\u201d and reflected his work conducted as a researcher in the Sharma Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quincy has been a member of the Sharma Lab since Spring 2020. As an undergraduate student, Quincy persevered through campus closures and helped section tissue samples for osteoarthritis-based studies. In addition, Quincy prepared a literature review on reactive oxygen species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After receiving his Bachelor\u2019s of Science degree through the UF department of Biomedical Engineering, Quincy elected to stay in the Sharma Lab and pursue his Master\u2019s degree. His research focuses on studying the mechanisms natural killer cells use to uptake manganese dioxide nanoparticles. Quincy is one of the first graduate students to complete a Master\u2019s thesis in the Sharma Lab!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
