Sharma Lab – Stop the Bleed!

This summer, Sharma Lab member, Sam Angel (Medical Student, 2nd year) led a Stop the Bleed training workshop where students learned how to respond to life-threatening bleeding emergencies. Students learned how to survey the environment for potential dangers and how best to communicate your location to 911. They also gained hands-on practice with realistic training equipment to apply pressure, pack a wound, and apply a tourniquet. The workshop was presented in collaboration with UF Health Trauma Services, and participating students received a certificate of completion from the American College of Surgeons. Great job, Sam and the Sharma Lab!
