SHUHEI KODAMA WON THE 2021 JSPE NUMATA MEMORIAL PAPER AWARD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Dr. Shuhei Kodama for winning the 2021 JSPE Numata Memorial Paper Award!<\/p>\n<p>Awarded paper:<\/p>\n<p>Kodama S., Yamaguchi H., Shimada K., Mizutani M., and Kuriyagawa T.: Control of Short-Pulsed Laser Induced Periodic Surface Structures with Machining\u2013Picosecond Laser Nanotexturing with Magnetic Abrasive Finishing\u2013, Precision Engineering, Vol. 60, (2019), pp. 428-436.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kodama visited Dr. Greenslet\u2019s (Dr. Yamaguchi\u2019s) laboratory at UF in 2017 to perform collaborative research work. At the time, he was a PhD student at the Tohoku University in Japan. The work performed at UF provided the foundation for the awarded paper.<\/p>\n<p>JSPE is the <em>Japan Society of Precision Engineering<\/em>, and details can be found at the following website: <em>\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jspe.or.jp\/activity\/awards\/\">https:\/\/www.jspe.or.jp\/activity\/awards\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is one of the most prestigious awards given by JSPE.
