{"id":193,"date":"2025-07-29T12:19:40","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T17:19:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faculty.eng.ufl.edu\/minhee-kim\/?page_id=193"},"modified":"2026-03-25T14:17:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T19:17:32","slug":"opening","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/faculty.eng.ufl.edu\/minhee-kim\/opening\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Positions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are looking for highly self-motivated Ph.D. students with interests in one or more of the following fields to join our research group:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Statistical modeling and predictive analysis of industrial and engineering systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generative design in advanced manufacturing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Process modeling, monitoring, prognostics, and decision making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engineering-informed machine learning&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We will focus on establishing novel data-driven methodologies for modeling, prediction, and&nbsp;decision-making&nbsp;of complex systems in various applications including manufacturing and energy systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The positions are&nbsp;<strong>fully funded<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideal candidates should meet the following qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>B.S. or M.S. in Industrial Engineering, Statistics,&nbsp; Computer Science\/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operation Research, Mathematics, or related fields.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong mathematics and statistics backgrounds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong programming skills in at least one programming language (Python, R, or Matlab is preferred)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The positions will remain open until filled by qualified candidates.
