Tseng, A. Zare, D. Rowland, B. Tillman and S. Yoon!\u00a0 Their paper,<a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.eng.ufl.edu\/machine-learning\/2019\/10\/peanut-maturity-classification-using-hyperspectral-imagery\/\"> &#8220;Peanut Maturity Classification using Hyperspectral Imagery&#8221;<\/a>, was recently accepted to <em>Biosystems Engineering.<\/em>\u00a0 This paper describes a method which can be used to estimate the maturity of individual peanut pods, without having to remove the hull of the peanut.\u00a0 Sheng&#8217;s and his co-authors&#8217; work provides a valuable tool which can be utilized in seed quality research.\u00a0 Additionally, his method solves the issues of labor intensity and subjectivity error present in all current methods for peanut maturity determination.<\/p>\n<p>Great\u00a0 job, Sheng!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to our labmate, Sheng Zou, and his collaborators: Y.
