Graduate Students

Carla Cabero del Hierro
Carla is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida, with a strong interest in materials research for space applications. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Computational Mathematics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where she was also a student-athlete on the tennis team. Her hobbies include tennis, soccer, and paddle surfing.

Subham Pandey
Subham Pandey is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida, with a strong interest in thermal sciences and mechanics. He earned his Master’s degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where he specialized in energy materials. His current research aspirations focus on advancing transient grating spectroscopy techniques and gravitational wave detection. Outside of his academic work, he enjoys playing cricket, traveling, watching movies, and anime.

Caroline Moore
Caroline is an incoming MS student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida, with a strong interest in how the properties of amorphous and semi-crystalline materials can be predicted, tailored, and harnessed. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Nanotechnology from the Florida Institute of Technology, where she primarily researched polymers for space applications. Outside of research and coursework, she enjoys playing volleyball, watching movies, and trying different coffee shops.
Undergraduate Students

Jared Paulovich
Jared Paulovich is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has a passion for design and manufacturing and is eager to expand his skill set into the areas of fluids and thermodynamics. He currently serves as president of UF’s Gator Roundnet Club and loves spending time with his dog!

Grant Roberts
Grant Roberts is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a Bachelor of Science in both Mechanical Engineering and Physics.
