Jane Shin

Assistant Professor
Jane Shin is an assistant professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Florida. She received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and the B.S. degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Seoul National University. During her PhD, she was selected as a Commercialization Fellow at Cornell in 2020.

Andres Pulido

PhD Student
Andres Pulido is a Ph.D. student in the Active Perception and Intelligent Robotics Lab. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 2021, where he was an undergraduate researcher for the Machine Intelligence Lab (MIL). His research interests include robotics motion planning, reinforcement learning, and optimal and adaptive control.

Baker Herrin

PhD Student
Baker Herrin is a Ph.D. student in the Active Perception and Intelligent Robotics Lab. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and minor in Fisheries & Aquatic Science from University of Florida in 2021. His research interest focuses on underwater robotics in hazardous or variable conditions.
Zijing Huang

PhD Student (Spring 23)
Zijing Huang is a Master’s student in the Active Perception and Intelligent Robotics Lab. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2019. His research interest focuses on Target Recognition, Localization, and Motion planning.
Ruoyao Qin

MS Student
Ruoyao Qin is a Master’s student in the Active Perception and Intelligent Robotics Lab. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University in 2020. His research interest focuses on Underwater Robotics, Dynamics, and robotics motion planning.
Sunmo Koo

MS Student
Sunmo Koo is a Master’s student in the Active Perception and Intelligent Robotics Lab. He received his B.S degree in Operations Research from Republic of Korea Naval Academy in 2014. He has served as an officer of Korea Navy and his research interest focuses on Underwater Robotics and Multi-robot Task Allocation and Scheduling.
